Kurt Bartel is a German painter of Informel (born 1928 in Berlin). He studied at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Berlin-West from 1950 to 1955.

In 1962, his work was in an exhibition at Galerie Diogenes, the laudation was held by Will Grohmann.

Bartel has lived and worked in Leipzig since 1994, and has participated in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad. He is considered the last still working representative of Informel.
